What it means for your application

 
Changes as City of York Council announce they will be leaving  North Yorkshire Home Choice  in early 2022 to set up their own York-only housing register.

City of York Council will be launching their own "York-Only" housing register in early 2022.   using a new  system called ‘Open Housing’ using their new York Social Houisng  Allocations Policy and process.
 

This means if you are looking for social housing in the York local authority area you will be required to make a new housing application, through the City of York "Open Housing" system when it is launched in early February 2022.
City of York Council will communicate the date they will be accepting registration in due course

 

Applicants with an current active application being administered by any remaining NYHC Partner looking for housing in any local authority listed below may remain on the NYHC housing register, subject to meeting the eligibility and qualification criteria in the NYHC Allocations Policy. 

Applicants may be required to verify their eligibility and qualification for access to social housing and the NYHC housing Register (this includes local connection) prior to any offer of accomodation or at any point of verification.
