City of York launch Open Housing

Looking for social housing in york ?  City of York have launched their own York housing register and social allocations policy please visit  www.york.gov.uk/OpenHousing to register your interest or for more information or housing advice contact the York Housing Registrations team on 01904 554044 or email them at housing.registrations@york.gov.uk  You will no longer be able to access housing in York through this website from April 2022
North Yorkshire Home Choice  will continue to operate the social housing register for  the local authority areas of Craven Richmondshire Ryedale Hambleton Scarborough and Selby

A new development in Staithes from York Housing Association due for completion in November 21. A mixture of one bed ground and first floor flats, two and three bedroom houses and 2 bedroom bungalows with rents starting from £90 per week. Applicants will need to have an active housing application and meet the s106 criteria to be eligible to bid on these properties. If you are an EU EEA or Swiss Citizen you and your family may need to apply to the EU Settlelement Scheme in order to  access social housing and to continue to live in the UK after 30th June 2021.  If your application is successful you will either get settled or pre-settled status. Further information on how to apply can be found on the government website https://www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families  EU EEA or Swiss Citizens with a current active application who are no longer eligible to access social housing will have their application closed at any point of verification.   Applications may be  verified at the point of application, during any period of assessment, notification of any change of circumstances and/or at the point of any offer of accommodation. Where an applicant is found no longer to be eligible for social housing or qualify for access to the North Yorkshire Home Choice Housing Register their application will be closed. NYHC operate a review process which includes access to the register by either eligibility or qualification
